Setting up MFA ( Mobile Phone )
By setting up MFA, you add an extra layer of security to your Microsoft 365 account sign-in. Visit aka.ms/mfasetup to get started.
Sign in to your Microsoft 365 with your @brant.ca account with your password like you normally do.
Choose Next.
Choose Next.
The default authentication method is to use the free Microsoft Authenticator app. If you have it installed on your mobile device, select Next and follow the prompts to add this account. If you don't have it installed there is a link provided to download it.
Choose Next.
Choose “Pair your account to the app by clicking this link”
If prompted to open in "Authenticator, choose “Open” to open the Authenticator app
On your Mobile Phone, the first time you open the Microsoft Authenticator app it may open up a ‘Your privacy matters’ screen first
Choose ‘I agree‘ on the ‘Your privacy matters’ screen
You should see the Corporation of the County of Brant account with your @brant.ca email address listed.
Confirm your brant.ca account has been added to the Authenticator, then go back to your browser and choose Next
You will now be prompted to provide a test MFA authentication to confirm the setup is complete.
Make note of the 2 digit number shown in your browser, then open the Microsoft Authenticator app, provide the number in the space provided and choose Yes
Return to your browser and confirm you received the “Notification Approved” message.
Choose Next.
Choose Done.
